Technologies
All Active Label labels are integrated into a single cloud-based dashboard that centralizes the collected data and provides real-time access. An intuitive platform for monitoring product conditions and optimizing management across the entire supply chain.
TTI – Continuous Monitoring
Active Label TTI labels (Time Temperature Indicators) provide a simple, cost-effective, and scalable solution for the continuous monitoring of temperature-sensitive products.
The labels record the cumulative effects of time and temperature, making it possible to assess the thermal conditions to which the product has been exposed.
Once activated, the indicator progressively changes color according to the combined effects of time and temperature. Readings obtained through a dedicated app and proprietary algorithms make it possible to verify product storage conditions and identify any exposure to temperatures outside the required thresholds.
Active Label TTI labels provide continuous monitoring for up to two or three weeks and can be easily integrated into existing packaging processes without requiring electronic components or batteries. Each label can be incorporated into a QR code, enabling unique product identification and immediate data collection through the dedicated app.
Main Advantages
- Continuous monitoring of temperature exposure;
- Cost-effective and easily scalable solution;
- No batteries or electronic components required;
- Easy integration into existing packaging processes;
- Automatic data collection through QR code scanning;
- Full integration with the Active Label Dashboard.
CTI – Threshold Monitoring
Active Label CTI labels (Critical Time-Temperature Indicators) are designed, printed, and supplied already activated and ready for use, making it possible to verify compliance with specific temperature limits.
When the predefined temperature is exceeded, the label provides an immediate and irreversible visual indication. This enables operators, distributors, and quality managers to quickly identify products that may have been exposed to unsuitable storage or transport conditions.
Unlike continuous monitoring systems, CTI labels operate as binary indicators, providing an immediate answer to a fundamental question: has the temperature threshold been exceeded or not?
The technology can be customized according to specific application requirements and target temperatures, using different materials and solutions depending on the operating environment. This makes the system highly versatile and suitable for a wide range of cold-chain applications.
CTI labels require no batteries, electronic components, or dedicated reading devices. They provide a highly scalable and cost-effective solution that can be easily integrated into existing processes.
Main Advantages
- Cost-effective and easily scalable solution;
- Immediate detection of temperature threshold exceedance;
- No batteries or electronic components required;
- Customizable according to the required temperature thresholds;
- Ideal for food, pharmaceutical, and logistics applications.
Humidity Sensors
Active Label humidity sensors detect and monitor the level of humidity to which the label is exposed through an easily identifiable color change.
This color change provides an immediate indication of environmental conditions, making it possible to identify exposure to unsuitable humidity levels that could compromise product quality, preservation, or integrity.
Light Sensors
Active Label light sensors are designed to detect exposure to visible and ultraviolet light through a chemical response in the material.
They make it possible to verify compliance with the required storage conditions throughout the entire supply chain. Thanks to their completely passive design, they can be integrated into packaging and provide continuous monitoring without requiring batteries or electronic components.
RFID – Active and Passive Monitoring
Active Label integrates active and passive RFID technologies to provide accurate, scalable, and real-time monitoring solutions throughout the entire supply chain.
These electronic devices communicate through RFID or NFC technology and can be read using dedicated checkpoints, portable readers, or compatible smartphones.
Thanks to their high sensitivity and accuracy, RFID systems enable reliable data collection and provide comprehensive visibility of product conditions and logistics flows.
Depending on operational requirements, Active Label provides active and passive RFID solutions designed for different monitoring scenarios.
Active RFID
Active RFID devices are equipped with an internal battery and integrated memory, allowing them to operate as true data loggers.
They continuously record environmental data at predefined intervals and store the information during transport and storage. This makes them particularly suitable for shipment monitoring and continuous cold-chain control during transportation.
Passive RFID
Passive RFID devices require no batteries or onboard memory. They provide information only when interrogated by an RFID reader or another compatible device.
Their simplicity, reliability, and ease of integration make them particularly suitable for warehouse monitoring, inventory management, and inspections at storage locations.

- Continuous data recording through active RFID devices;
- Efficient warehouse and storage monitoring with passive RFID;
- Real-time data collection through RFID and NFC technologies;
- Scalable solution for every stage of the supply chain;

Tamper-Evident Labels
Active Label develops protective solutions designed to improve product security throughout the entire supply chain, from production and distribution to the point of sale.
Tamper-Evident Labels
Active Label tamper-evident labels provide a simple and effective solution for identifying attempted tampering or unauthorized opening.
Once applied, the labels are designed to deteriorate when removed, leaving part of the material attached to the original surface. This makes any unauthorized opening, removal, or attempted manipulation immediately visible.
The solution requires no software, electronic components, or dedicated devices, making it easy to integrate into existing production and packaging processes.
Main Advantages
- Immediate evidence of attempted tampering;
- Simple and cost-effective solution;
- No batteries, electronics, or dedicated hardware required;
- Easy integration into existing packaging processes;
- Improved product security throughout the supply chain.
ActiveSeal – Anti-Counterfeiting Technology
ActiveSeal is an innovative technology developed to provide every product with a unique and verifiable identity.
The system is based on the use and combination of materials with different physical properties. During label production, these materials generate a unique signature associated with the individual product, creating a non-replicable identification element.
Just as a barcode contains digital information, ActiveSeal uses the intrinsic properties of the materials to create an authentication code embedded directly into the label.
This approach creates new opportunities to prevent counterfeiting, improve traceability, and protect brand value throughout the entire supply chain.
Main Advantages
- Unique product identification;
- Improved protection against counterfeiting;
- Non-replicable physical authentication mechanism;
- Potential integration with digital traceability systems;
- No impact on packaging appearance;
- Scalable solution for brand and product protection.
